Isostasy

Geophotography is a site dedicated to sharing an experience. It is focused on geographic, hence the geo, and photographic shots. Landscapes include Panoramic or Panoramas of National Parks and Monuments, Geodestinations, photographs of geology related subjects and nature.

Raised beach
The Large Rocky beach could have been deposited by a large storm, but it has been sometime since t was depostied (note the lichen which has grown) This is an area where isostatic rebound has been occuring and is a likely contributor to the old "Storn" beach from being deposited. "isostatic compensation The adjustment of the lithosphere of the Earth to maintain equilibrium among units of varying mass and density; excess mass above is balanced by a deficit of density below, and vice versa.
