Waterfalls
Water. Waterfalls. Roaring rivers flowing over the edge of basalt columnar cliffs. Forces that pound the rocks filling the air with deafening decibels from cavitation and collapsing bubbles. Mist climbing upwards, soaking and surrounding the sides and scenery. You become absorbed into the cascading cataracts and currents.
Other gentler streams drop precariously over the steep breaks in the landscape. Formed by cooling basalt floods, columns designed by nature support the lip of the falls. The overhang creates that mystical space behind a curtain of current.
The geomorphology displays Vestiges of older massive jökulhlaups which inundated the landscape. Covering the earth in forces that moved house-sized rocks and tore asunder the cliffs. A portrait of pure power pummeling the panorama.
